Got a epidural before , absolutely insane how painless it is getting done and insane how it works . I had Fentanyl in my one for a tumor removal . They kept spraying me with freezing spray every hour to make sure the epidural wasn't moving up towards my heart and lungs . Medicine today is truly fascinating

Just took one yesterday for my calcaneus reconstruction surgery. There's a slight pinch like any other small needles, but I'd say it's painless!

The only complaint I have was the long recovery time. I'm lying on my back for atleast 24 hours before I'm even allowed to sit on my bed and had to use catheter for days, which took away my independence.
