Thats the reason why our VVIP opt to seek medical help in other country.
the government would do anything but increasing the salary for nurses. what a shitty government. first they wanted nurses to work more days without a pay increase, and now they want to lower the requirements for nurses. the main problem is the nurses being underpaid but overworked, that's why the numbers of nurses are decreasing each year. it's not because it's difficult to apply for the job, why is the government spinning twisting things around instead of admitting their selfishness and ignorance?
What is Malaysia famous for ? Reducing the quality of education by diminishing English, eliminating PSR, PMR, saving terrorists Palestinians and what have you. Now it's the end of nursing quality as with the endemic, low grade MARA grads who are not fit to enter tertiary level education ! This is why we have 10,000 PhD holders who don't know the difference between a Wong and Lim and Malaysia Airlines planes getting screwed when handled by FELDA boys as maintenance engineers. When there is no meritocracy, this is what happens. Just take a look at our neighbor Singapore !
what quality??? I been hospitalized here in Malaysia in 2 different hospitals and the nurse service is both VERY BAD. I need to monitor my own drip and call them to replaced when its finished or else the blood will go up the tube. Worst nurse I had experience in 4 countries I work in. Please teach your nurses to focus on their patient and not on their phones while wasting time in the nurse station. I heard the best nurses in the world are from the Philippines, maybe you should learn from their universities how they trained their nurses.
Unwise if not hilarious suggestion to lowering entry requirements. Unless the duration and content of training is to be revised. Especially considering much speculation that the general standards of education needs initiatives to improve quality. Myopic approaches to standards of education and quality could have adverse consequences. If it’s not already happening. Levelling downwards for any reasons is not going to help development in the long term. A useful consideration would be to extend duration of training, ensure quality of content and qualification of trainers and have a rigorous training schedule .

dah byk round buat dalam sektor pendidikan, berapa banyak murid sekolah suffered incompetent teachers – now nak buat kt nurse pula.
add more work hours – xcakap bab quality, lower the barrier of entry kata takut quality jatuh. i don't think people get your train of thoughts.
what about the current quality? for years people have been saying things because things did happen. gossips and hearsay always starts with truth to then gradually distorted as it moves. even today's intern get that. pengarah2 kat dalam get that or not? or is it the practice of bincang antara boss tapi tak libat pekerja? macam buat product and services without involving users enough. ask former corporate people yg join the gov, they can pinpoint these issues – but are you utilizing them? i don't think so.
i bet they don't gather feedback and reviews from people who suffered the incompetences and the gov just crutch on the low fee to save their face and protect their dignity.
what is next? asking the public to be grateful? is that the solution? when GE is coming, you need to show good numbers on employment, welfare, etc. you will do it again, absorb those who do not want to be there in the first place. moving forward, you will then preach about good governance, professionalism and inclusive approach – no wonder we got brain drain issues
when the public gets mad, you find scapegoats to make headlines, then you go back to your old ways until the next crisis. bro, what a predictable incompetence
Agreed. Kindly relax the entry requirement for paramedics and medical students as well. 😅
As someone who is in the field, the gov is just lowering the entry requirement. Student nurses still have to go through 3 years of diploma to learn the basic skills to be a competent nurse. And in each semester, student nurses have to achieve a certain amount of skill (kinda like a logbook) in order to progress to the next sem.
Our country needs more nurses. Currently most of our nurses are working double shift. As in if they're working the morning shift and in the afternoon, there's not enough staff, they have to work until afternoon. Which can lead to burnout fast. More nurses can help reduce the burnout for our current nurses.
If this lowering of standard is implemented people will shuddered when a nurse approach them to take samples of blood or injection fearing that they will be poked many times before the nurses will get it right???
If they go on with this 3 credits as pre-requites for nursing programs, hospital and clinic patients will be the victims. Before this, nursing graduates especially malay ones were dull and lack knowledge bcos lecturers helped them a lot by giving them grades they did not merit. And this has led to too many avoidable deaths of patients due negligence. Why not open the door for foreign nurses to fill the vacancy instead?
This is a stupid move. Sacrificing quality for the sake of shortage???? It simply means that we have colleges releasing incompetent people. This must change. Dont pass them in exam just to make the numbers.
That's utterly shocking that the health minister is willing to lower the standards for enrollment for nurses. Already there bumbling nursing staff that endanger human life, now further lowering it's enrollment standards??? What utter stupidity, I'm shocked that this could come from Dr Zulkifi. Oh My goodness, what level of stupidity is this?????
also union : we dont have enough personel and, also we dont want to work more hours.
That’s very hair raising especially lowering standards in the health industry where lives are at stake. Syabas Malaysia
AND THE GOVERMENT HAVE GUTS TO BULIT HOSPITAL IN OTHER COUNTRY AND NEXT WHAT ? PAYING THEIR DOCTOR AND NURSE SALARY THERE?? WHEN THE GOVERMENT EVEN CANNOT HANDLE IN HERE WHAT A SHAME
