I'm currently taking tianeptine (prescribed by a doctor, not abused) and I've heard that you have to stop taking it before anesthesia…does this also apply to treatment with propofol?!

I'll probably have to have an endoscopy in a few months too. I'm thinking about whether I should do it with or without anesthesia. To be honest, I'm afraid of both… I have post-traumatic stress disorder and the thought of being unconscious but also experiencing the process stresses me out…

As a person who had a jejunal feeding tube for 4 months I must say she’s a champ what an amazing doctor .

  • @SimplyMar05

She is a fucking god wtf I woke up for like 20 seconds during mine and gaged 13 times and thought I was dying

  • @TinaRN

Dr. Myro, I had to go back and look, but you did do a short on the doctor performing an EGD on herself, for her class. It is also impressive!
The first EGD I had, I was awake. 10/10 do not recommend! I still remember Dr. Gandsas’ nurse telling me to swallow the scope 🧐😳😖 Propofol, AKA: “the milk”🥛is your friend. I’ll end with that!

  • @Letthembelightpeaceonelove

Wow, I actually remember waking up after they had already given me anesthesia because my gag reflex is so strong that it woke me up for a few seconds as they were initially sending the tube down my throat. I wasn't scared of the procedure though, more of my body having a reaction to the anesthesia.

  • @lunaticatiga

I dont know but here in Spain they give u propofol and u are done.

  • @WildWildDev

I’m supposed to get one done but I’m scared to get one done because I don’t want anesthesia

The gag reflex leaves once it's inside. You only feel like you need to gag at beginning (you'll be asked to swallow) and then at the very end as they remove the end of the endoscope. I think I got some numbing spray, it made my mouth and throat tingle.

Others watching on lady I watching in lady stomach 😂😂

  • @jodiriis

I’ve had an endoscopy in my early twenties and the anesthesia wore off. I was gagging so badly. It was torture!!!

  • @Seafoodie475

that's nice and skinny- the one that was used on me was about 5 times thicker. I chose not to be sedated. It was traumatic!
