Now i know why my derm prescribed both Benzoyl Peroxide and Tretinoin. I have .025% but i want a higher dose if possible?

  • @Johnweely

Tretinoin take so damn long to work, i've been using it for 3 months, and still no result

I have rosacea and combination and acne prone skin and what worked best for me was not washing my face in the morning. Sounds gross but my skin looks fantastic. I do all my skincare at night (wash face thoroughly, toner and a rich nightcream) and when I wake up I put on sunscreen and make up (when I feel a bit gross I spritz on some vichy thermal water). I kid you not my acne sorted itself out and my combination skin is evenly hydrated. My rosacea only acts up when I drink too much alcohol now.

For girls with PCOS the best way to treat your acne is through cutting out dairy sugar and gluten

Spirolactone will fuck you up. I'd rather have acne than need a liver transplant

I'm a registered dietitian, you can improve or fix most of these acne issues by focusing on your gut health. And always check your vitamin D status, go get your labs done before you start taking a bunch of meds and accruing pharmaceuticals.
The gut-microbiota is off in at least some of these cases or you're having insulin issues, especially for the PCOS/female acne she suggested birth control for.
Managing gut health can be a bit different for everyone. If there was a gut infection or antibiotics that triggered the acne, then fasting or carnivore diet for a bit can help to reset the gut bacteria. If PCOS focusing on insulin resistance and fiber+protein+omega 3s+less stress bc your cortisol is a mess, if autoimmune issues kick start acne than a vegetarian, vegan or even carnivore diet may be beneficial depending on how you respond.

This just proves that dermatologists don’t know anything about the Cause of Acne. They only know how to treat it. Medicine is a Joke.

DIET RECOMENDATION ? Skin is a result of poor diet , bad hygiene and ignorance.DOCTORS DONT ADRESS THE BASIC ISSUES

  • @arhamadurrani1570

And for pregnant lady or someone with TTC, what would you recommend other than tretinoin
