As an older person, I was diagnosed with severe Vitamin D deficiency and put on a prescription strength supplement. At about that same time Covid hit and I heard that Zinc would help your immune system so I started taking that, too. Over time, I noticed that my severe age spots were lightening and I googled them and sure 'nuf, they both are effective for battling age spots. Thanx for this. I will try it, too.
Definitely going to try that herbal supplement to help with UV during the summer. This is the first time I ever heard of it. Very interesting.

I honestly thought you were going to mention NAC (or the combination GlyNAC; 1:1 glycine and n-acetylcysteine) but I have never heard of this one. I did notice in research that there may be interference with the CYP metabolic pathway, and I do have one copy of the CYP2C19 gene that makes me metabolize certain medications faster. I will have to see if this makes my pain relievers deplete faster than they already do (I tend to burn through anesthesia way faster than expected).

Heliocare is so confusing. Ferns are really sensitive to the sun and fry so fast. It seems odd that they’d offer us protection from something they can’t handle at all haha
Seems like it's a double sided coin since the more you protect your skin , the less vitamin D your body produces
