Is a Psychology Degree for Me?

I want to help others and listen to others because as a child i never had the opportunity for someone to listen to me. But at the same time I want to be a forensic psychologist to know how trauma and other things affect people to make them a criminal. I don't really like science though mainly physics, chemistry and especially maths. But all in all I am interested mainly in law and psychology. I am good at English, biology and computer but science is not my strong suit tbh so that's why I am having doubts about forensic psychology and at the same time i want to know how the mind works & understand more about mental illnesses and disorders in order to remove the stigma from the society. i also have a very strong suite in communicating with people as I have been told by a lot of people including my secondary school professor who told me to venture into psychology after listening to my mental health and entertainment podcast called @DISCUSSINGTOPICSPODCAST, I want to talk to people struggling with their mental health and show them the way forward, i want to be their safe space. i want others to have what i
didnt have😢and I'm definitely going to do it😊

Before enrolling in a psychology program, one should investigate the replication crisis. Although it affects many other scientific fields, the situation in psychology is particularly alarming. How can we, as psychologists, ethically deliver interventions to our patients based on studies that are not replicable – studies that may have been manipulated to produce positive outcomes?

We are a science that claims to care about human well-being, yet many researchers have succumbed to the pressures of capitalism and the demand for high volumes of scientific output, often at the expense of the methodological rigor that true science demands. Not to mention the conflicts of interest surrounding the DSM-5. When our so-called "Bible" is authored by individuals with ties to pharmaceutical companies – entities whose primary goal is profit through the sale of psychotropic drugs – serious ethical concerns arise.

The ideal of psychology is indeed a noble one, but in practice, it has increasingly become just another business.

I want to study psychology and art and how art can help benefit people who struggle. Unfortunately for me due to poor life choices i cant go into medical fields so im cautious about choosing to persue this opportunity.

Why is psychology looked down upon as a humanities subject as opposed to psychiatry?
In my country, psychology is included in humanities suject category.

There appears to be a large body of people that seem to suffer from extreme psychopathy. They have learned; or been taught to hide behind the guise of "Autism" (they are not autistic, they are criminally insane)

Additionally they seem to be instrumentalized in revolutionary activities as a line of defense due to their lack of squiemeshness.

They may identify each other secretly with the word "aucustic" as a joke. But what they are really saying is they are extreme psychopaths pretending to be autistic.

Just a heads up

I’ve heard that it’s hard for students to get a good job who go in the psychology field cuz for most of the “interesting” jobs, a PhD/PsyD is needed. Do these jobs pay well? Forensic psychology is a passion of mine but I’m worried because I don’t want to end up being unemployed or poor lol.

I always wanted to be a psychologist but wasn't accepted at first, and now I just don't have that kind of money, some dreams seems far but they still stick with you.
