Well, that wouldn’t be too bad except for the fact that 1, you were in a hermetically sealed room, with one single tiny AC unit that was in no way capable of keeping that room cool, while the drums were dropping out once every 90 seconds and it took about 60 seconds to Trim them down so you were constantly moving.
Yeah, within 3 weeks, they tried telling me 15 minutes before go time “someone called out for night shift food barrels, you have to stay” I was in food barrels all day, looked at my watch and was like “I leave in 15 minutes, you can’t come to me 15 minutes before my shift ends and tell me I have to work another 8 hours, that’s not happening, then what? Go home, sleep for maybe 6 hours after showering and eating and then coming back and working food barrels again? No, I’m not staying. Either I’m off food barrels for the night and someone else can do it and I’ll take their spot, or I’m going home.
The manager tried being a hard ass so I just laughed in his face and told him “enjoy working food barrels tonight” and walked away.
Place didn’t pay nearly enough for the 6-8000 calories you were burning a day doing that job. Like lunch breaks, you had to eat something huge because the energy output required for that job was ridiculous on top of being soaked head to toe in sweat, constantly having chaffed ass… yea, shit wasn’t worth the 12 bucks an hour😂😂😂😂 (this was 14 years ago)
