This is appalling in every way. Britain is already one of the most nature depleted countries in Europe! There isn't a housing crisis; there's an over population crisis.

  • @shelleyphilcox4743

Im in favour of anything that improves the untenable housing situation in the UK. However, why is the housebuilding company buying land and applying for planning permission at a site they cannot comply with the rules on? Is it the case that there are no suitable sites left across the whole country where the pollution rules are not breached? What does that tell us if that is the case?

  • @xinma6034

Eating curry near river and beef curry is yummy with naan bread

  • @earthman6700

Guess the overseas privately owned Water Companies don't want to run their business properly, just take the profits.

  • @julesvis

They need to build for Serco to house their new population , as provided by the Home Office.

  • @NatMart9394

Stop building in England for the rest of the world to move in.

  • @mathudeano145

Yooooo why is he talking to a laptop on a fence in the rain 😂🤣

  • @BMW_329

How about we fix up or tear down the homes that aren't being used first and then we build new one.

  • @mathudeano145

Never knew water pollution caused ‘climate worries’ 😂

  • @rb5325

Pay £140 million to National England to offset river pollution whilst allowing housing developers to pollute rivers. These MPs paid for their education!. WHAT?!.

  • @AH-tr2cz

The government once again proove what a useless bunch of (insert prefered insult) they are realy are. Instead of forcing water companies to invest their profits into the services they are meant to be providing they are making it easier for them to dump waste and avoid their responsibilities!!!

  • @Ricardoteh345rd

These new homes won't be social/council homes that are so so desperately needed. But no it's just giving sunak's overseas developer mates more free will to concrete jungle this once green and pleasant land the same destruction boris caused, it won't be town nor city building it will be the desimation and destruction of the countryside, seaside or village anything with a view areas. these homes will no doubt be for migrants or the rich retirees and our old friend yes the destroyer of the rental market the solid income of the rich AIRBNB yep like all new houses set to be built they will allegedly be given to migrants rent paid by the government sorry no the tax payer, don't forget to sling in a couple of sh**y built terraced houses for the unaffordable so called affordable housing no one can afford. Goodbye to England's once beautiful countryside😔

  • @alex29443

A lot of ignorance in the comments section. The UK generally has very clean rivers, with the one significant exception being the sewage overflow systems which are a relic of the victorian sewerage style that is still the standard we build to (very difficult to suddenly swap from combined sewage to separate, parts of Germany and the USA have the same issue, for the same reason) in combination with arguable underinvestment in maintenence and expansion of sewer networks, especially in combination with population growth. The regulations on construction companies are extremely and unreasonably stringent in many cases. I welcome this change as a victory for common sense.

  • @jackb3493

What ridiculous housing. Cheap, dreg, detached housing. Properly built housing would be completely compliant. But that’s going to eat into their profits

  • @Relisysification

Our water pollution problem has been getting worse for a long time, and this is so they don't have to sway the NIMBY's who normally vote for the current government ahead of the looming GE.

They need to be sorting the water companies causing harm, not just wave away environmental protection for the purpose of a few talking point numbers

  • @johnbennett348

No one, certainly sunak, has mentioned that our rivers are so polluted now that fish can not live in them. This is killing the recreational angling industry which is worth millions of pounds per year. Sunak doesn't care about the country, he certainly doesn't care about the British people. He is changing our country into a home for the rich only. He really doesn't think that the old or disabled have a right to live here.

  • @heybabycometobutthead

500 illegal migrants every day need somewhere to live at your expense and at the expense your environment.

  • @jigsy7774

Did that guy say for the business and then pause? I thought it was for the people

  • @roninhood1027

We don’t have a housing crisis, we have an immigration disaster.

  • @PAUL-wv6vu

Who can afford them at 6% interest rates

  • @gavjav1

This government is so naive to the impact on the environment, there like a bunch of immature school boys. All they think of is money instead of thinking about the long term affect this will have and will cost billions to put right, if the damage that's done is able to be put right 🤦‍♂

  • @rickywood8214

Political propaganda from the global Covid Climate change

  • @obtuse1291

I thought there wasn't any rules on waterway pollution. How can they be relaxed? 😢

  • @JeffHall-dd3cl

Sky News want to open the UK to millions of migrants but try to build housing for them and it is verboten.

  • @ChristineRead-ck1uq

So they're intent on cleaning the air, that doesn't actually need cleaning, but have no problem with polluting our water.
    That makes sense – not.

  • @williamgould2855

no room or need for wild life or clean water in labour or tory UK . .

  • @carolan3269

I realise houses are needed primarily for families, but mustn't forget couples or single people, particuarly veterans who need housing too. Could not so called "brownfield sites" be utilised? This in the sense of renovating such for suitable apartnents with modified rent, as well as houses. They can be made attractive and don't have to be just "thrown up". Apparently there is land available for 1.3 million homes across over 21000 sites and "around 25000 hectares".

  • @ibelieveyou2066

LOL. How many empty properties did one council,in one city find?

  • @immyandrobbo

Climate change is a hoax. Do not believe what the legacy media says. They r all controlled by a handful of people that absolutely hate us and wants 7.5 billion people unalived so they can control us easier.

  • @michaelstapelberg7751

all i heard was "hi I am fishi…." there are more than enough brown feild sites.. shut it corrupt little golbin!

  • @paulh6355

This government is an utter disgrace! I hate to see the state of the rivers in a few years time they are hardly in a good state now!

  • @weareevil6912

Climate change one of the biggest scams in history

  • @Jonathan_Doe_

Sewage companies shouldn’t be private sector, or allowed to bribe ‘donate’ to political parties to change the law to suit their profit margins instead of the publics best interests.

  • @lenharris6095

Stop building on our green belts Sunak, that is our countryside, we do not want concrete jungles across our countries green belts. Sunak is about as useful as a chocolate kettle, get him out and Richard Tice in next election, every indigenous person must vote for the Reform party, they are the only party that are in touch with the people of our country, people should have learned by now ,over the years Labour ,the Tories and the good for nothing Lib- Dems, are not what we need for Britain, we need a leader who respects the people, and then the people would respect them, they need to look after our country and citizens, no more illegal scroungers kick them all out, stop all aid to others countries, like India who have a space program, stop all the health tourists, who scam our NHS for billions every year ,rebuild our Military so we can fight wars if needed, come out of any remaining EU rules, i thought we left the EU, stop all these money grabbing lawyers who scam billions of pound's, backing illegal migrants, use your own companies money, Bring back the death penalty, with all the DNA today it is 3 billion to one, that they have the right person. Take DNA from birth , Id cards for everyone. These are just a few things that need to happen in our country, there are many more too.

  • @jeanmcguinness3297

Have we all gone mad. Our rivers are not in India where pollution may be accepted. This is not the Ghanjis… We Ulez the country to the point of stupidity but pollute our water😮

  • @stevesproul1627

Reverse immigration then we won't need more homes, its not like the natives are causing the need!

  • @RobertJones-ku4fg

The only change that has occurred here is that instead of the developer paying to offset the pollution the tax payer foots the cost instead

  • @speedtraindjspeedtrain6325

climate worries sky ? no pollution is not climate change have your journalists? left primary school yet

  • @jamesbowskill362

The grinning monkey is about telling the faithful how wonderful his new swimming pool is,,, THANKS to uk taxpayers who are now expected to drink POISIONED WATER ……..if its not bad enough choking on turds!!!!!!!!!!, NOW….. we are expected to wash/shower/drink HIGHLY INFECTED UNTREATED FILTHY WATER ………

Its just another step towards sunaks downfall & the shocking demise of this once great country under this little shytes 4th World plans for UK.

  • @StevenLewis-z6c

Charge drivers for air pollution then open the rivers to investers.

    What a load of pollocks

  • @judithafholland

There are thousands of very cheap derelict homes in our deindustrialised cities. These cities already have viable infrastructure eg sewers & water supply. What they need is employers to provide work there, & to become vibrant communities again.

As for easing standards of discharges into our rivers, we've spent decades trying to clean them up. Just 6 months of pollution destroys the ecosystem all over again.
What a disaster privatising water! All the companies do, is extract maximum profit for minimal service they can get away with, & no forward planning.

  • @vicky_webcatuk

Yes screw the waterways, theyre all toxic anyway, no-ones been caring for them for years and years. The WILDLIFE pays!!!!

  • @NeoNexudus

Absolute joke… Yes lets knock up brand new homes at the cost of sullying our rivers and water ways more… houses are gunna be baught up by greedy landords/not be affordable and the rivers are gunna be toxic waste dumps were nothing survives… They really are living in a different world…

  • @proffessorclueless

Our unwanted unelected PM introduces yet another damaging policy to make our lives worse.

  • @Jan-sn5tk

Everry day more people arrive in the uk stoo them and then we dont need more houses and more cars and more schools. Tories wont stop until every geen space has been covered in tarmac cement and bricks. We already import a substantial amount of food and when our farms are gone what then? Other countries can 'hold us over a barrel' with food prices . Who gets the good – those who can pay the price. I greatly fear for my descendants what kind of life they will have. Its getting like India with billions of mouths to feed and homelessness
