I have follow you videos a nd you constaly repeat erroneous terminology, example, America civil war, America revolution, United States, all thos terminologies are erroneous. English colonials in America war of independece, the United States of America war of secession, of the States , United States of America is the name, United States is a prefix , United States Mexicanos, one example of this. Feliz Navidad ❤

Witty bit the 'sacrifice to the algorithm'.

  • @spartanrh83

On second thought. This plan was so dumb that the Yanks should have expected it. It could have literally been the most disastrous blunder in the history of warfare.

4:35 Notice the proclamation was only for "States in Rebellion" and was written 2 years after the start of the war.
The practise continued in Northern border states for well over 2 years after the end of the civil war.
Odd since we are constantly told it was the main reason for the war in the first place(at least thats been the story since the late 1940s when school history books were changed to reflect that "fact")

Fucking sickles. Seems like every battle that bastard would break the line and almost cost tbe union. This time he doesnt go far enough lol hindsight is amazong with history.

  • @JustAjellyfish.

I love history and quality content. Y’all have managed to combine them both! Keep up the great vids!!!

  • @britishpatriot7386

The Union leaders didn't care about slave's at all though in reality, they were just useful tools like today, democrats.

  • @wolfmensch-productions

The flags are too big. I can’t see stuff with the, beim there all the time. Just color code is more than enough to understand the map

  • @paddoksa9451

i did play out this fight and whit out using my knowledge the Union lost every time

although I marvel at the generals and fighting men of the Confederate Army, I’m thankful that the Confederacy lost the war.

if they hadn’t lost the war, I wouldn’t have the privilege of sitting here and typing these words in the USA.

    sincerely,

    1st gen immigrant from Vietnam

God Bless the USA! Go Trump!

What a surprise! A heavily outnumbered army launches a surprise night attack… If Hooker studied your channel, he would have seen this coming.

  • @fabioarias4846

man imagine fighting for you country only to be remembered in a history video as the 'less reliable men'

  • @vinnyp7757

Great Video-but Meade’s name is misspelled in the icon.

I remain of the view that if Hooker hadn't been wounded at the key point of the battle– suffering what we would now recognize as a moderate traumatic brain injury or severe concussion– the Union would have won the battle. His position on the afternoon of May 3 was unproblematic; the Confederates could not realistically attack the main Union force in the Wilderness (it held an entrenched bridgehead that two corps could easily hold against anything Lee could throw at them) and Fredericksburg was firmly in Union hands. A quick night march would have seen the bulk of the Union army across the Rappahannock and on its way to Spotsylvania by morning. Lee would have had to scramble desperately to even get between the Union army and Richmond (just as he historically did after Grant turned his right flank after the Battle of the Wilderness the next year). It's possible that Longstreet's returning divisions might have been able to interpose and delay the Union advance long enough for Lee's main army to catch up, but the situation would certainly have been highly favorable to Hooker.

Unfortunately, it's hard to strategize when you're in a minimally conscious state.

Second Manassas is better in almost every way.

  • @BrianMolstad

Lee was greatly helped when Hooker crumbled under pressure.
