I think this a great topic to be revisited.
I am a Radiographer from India.
Can you disclose what is the procedure for applying in USA . I have a degree in Imaging science technology
I have BS in Business and I was half way to my Masters when I quit. Now I'm in Rad Tech school. I can finish my masters and get MS in Health Administration an any time. But I don't want right now. Want to become a good Rad tech! :))
Most newbies have no idea what they want to do 20 years down the road. I think if they are looking at a long career ahead, they should probably go ahead and get a bachelors degree while they are still in school mode and later when they get tired of the same old thing, they can go into management or advanced studies for teaching. Some of the modalities are now leaning towards bachelors degrees. If you look at all the jobs out there, you will see a lot of them list bachelors degree as a requirement for the advanced modalities such as Nuc Med or Radiation Therapy. With the increased innovations in IR and Cath Lab, I think those might eventually go the same route. MRI now has sub specialties. I just found out yesterday that in order to do cardiac MRI you have to go for specialized training to be considered eligible to do them (at least in the hospitals where I live) which means traveling and staying 2 weeks for intense training. Possibly in the future this might be part of the normal curriculum and required for every tech.
So happy to see you back! If you have a live session this Saturday I will try to make it!!
that's great for you man congratulations! so weber has both a MSRS but they also have a RA program, this is more focused on reading, now theres not alot of jobs for a RA (is that growing?) is it worth going into a RA program even if you try to go into managment?
