What a great attitude without fear of knowledge. We should be smarter with what we know: but sadly we are filled with fears in front of knowledge and academy. We need to go through knowledge. To lose fear. To just solve problems through observation, thinking and preparation, instead of thinking that we can't do anything because that is reserved for "the scientists". But you can be a scientist if you follow the scientific method. Those who follow the scientific method ARE scientists. That's all it takes. To be intellectually honest with yourself.

This was over 11 years ago. Anyone know if this has actually landed anywhere in practice? I remember watching this when it first streamed and I was so excited. I’ve seen similar breakthroughs and they all mysteriously go quite. I’m fed up of cancer research being almost entirely geared at “treatment” (although it is still extremely important).

Why aren’t we prioritising detection like this young man and even more importantly CAUSATION!

I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch but I can’t help but be very suspicious about motives behind our lack in progress when it comes to cancers and heart disease the world over.

It has been 12 years since that time he invented, but there is still no prospect of practical implementation.

  • @xgbxv

    これについては、この時から12年経ちましたが、まだ実用化の目処が立っていません。

He needs more popularity and love, but people made celebrities like bhad bhaddie, jeremy miks (or mix, minx…) famous

  • @jt.633

It’s been 11 years and have been waiting where is it? Why is it not available)

  • @elizabethbyers3600

He was driven to find a solution and he did, he deserves a Nobel Prize for this achievement. Kudos to you! God bless 🙏🏼

  • @servlinx

Pharmaceutics company goal is to make money and saving live is not a finality or priority but a way to make believe (hope) so peoples will paid the product. Jack sorry but it is too cheap or work too quick no interesting economical return.

  • @ronaldromero6772

Now you’ll be considered a threat to cancer doctors and drug companies.

    Anyone here for school?

    Just me?

  • @peace20231

It's nine years later now! Is this test now available and if so where???

  • @santiagosanchez2704

So what happened with this? In my country there is no screening for pancreatic cancer yet… so I am not sure that this has ever arrived to the mainstream!

  • @kimhetherington6567

What a brilliant young man. I'm diagnosed with stage 4 unresectable pancreatic ca.

  • @anaabendroth3460

Fast forward to the present, and Jack Andraka's revolutionary work is being poo-pooed by every single scientific institution that even remotely glances at Jack's work. I am sickened by the closed minded reception he has received. Mozart was a teenager and a musical genius. Why should it be any different, when a teenaged scientist goes the extra miles with such promising hope for the medical future???

  • @thomtorrez7618

If there is no money in it then implementation will be stifled at best . Ignored at worst .

  • @bappaichotu

all the best jack. unfortunately i lost my only sibling to this dreaded disease last year.

  • @ellenh9381

Go to Wiki, his project was described as a “possible” test for pancreatic cancer. Says he later called it “just a HS science project.” Other criticism is flaws in the work, not sharing info, other scientists did same work earlier … disappointing, having lost my mom to pancreatic cancer.

  • @Ukepa

today is May 3rd, 2022 and this is apparently not available. almost 10 years after this video… why, why, why????
people are dying every day because this cancer is not discovered early. this test should be part of your annual physical.

  • @kentonkirkpatrick5225

What is the name of your (Patented?) test so I can ask my Dr. for it? Thank You

  • @laurapauk9489

keep working Jack – you make us proud and Aaron Swartz's name lives on with people like you

  • @rivercountrystore1827

I just spoke to someone who lost their father recently to Pancreatic Cancer at 63 years of age. It is 2021 and this video is from 2013, I wonder what happened 😞
